“ The kind of local, mountain town community kitchen that’s hard to find anymore. I paid by check bc I didn’t have cash! Great service, homey Americana vibes, and delicious pork. My sides were amazing too - best coleslaw and Brunswick stew I’ve ever had. Highly recommend, and can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town. A bat flew into my car while I was taking a picture of the eerie mountain fog. Fun! ”

“ REALLY GOOD BBQ! Portions were huge and sides are delicious! My only complaint, they were sold out of the brisket and chicken! Said they sold out about an hour and a half after opening at 4pm. I had pulled pork sandwich and hubby had ribs. Both got rave reviews! Some BBQ places over-smoke their meat…NOT the case here, just really delicious food! I am not a fan of eating early, but I with DEFINITELY go back and get the brisket and chicken as take-away!!!! ”

“ This was my first time here. The line went from one side of the building to the other, so I knew it had to be good. The staff was exceptional. I got a pulled pork plate with baked beans and brunswick stew. The pulled pork is some of the best that I've had anywhere- cooked perfectly! The baked beans were a little on the sweet side at first, but a little hot sauce and they were great. The brunswick stew wasn't the type that I prefer, but it's rare that anyone has it. I was told the ribs are amazing, so I'll definitely be back for those! Highly recommended. ”

“ I can't give enough stars to this wonderful place!! I wanted for years to come here because I did not live far from it. My friend Randy kept telling me I gotta go so I made no more excuses he picked me up and we had the best time!! Food is OUTSTANDING and the staff is OUTSTANDING always someone coming to serve us ask us if there is anything we need!! The location in those mountains is so beautiful and to sit outside by the creek and relax after you had a great meal is the best! So many places to sit outside or on the back covered porch and kids out playing seeing families having fun is fantastic!! The food portions are huge. The owner will fill your plate to NOT leave hungry!! The next best part is the homemade cakes and pies!! Oh you will have to make room for the sweets!! Randy suggested strawberry cake!! I was impressed how big the slice you get and the fresh ingredients made!! Please don't put off coming here!! The drive is so worth it! No BBQ place I have ever been to gives you this much food fun service and quality environment to enjoy. The staff put love and care into their food and serving you!! “ I love barbecue but I can’t afford it for A large family. This place gives you enough food to feed a large family five times. Take cash, Buy the family pack and take it home with you. Brisket, chopped barbecue or pulled, barbecue chicken, ribs and two sides. the people are even better than the food. The place is in the middle of nowhere but it has an unbelievably beautiful location with a creek running behind it so let your kids play or eat at tables underneath trees or underneath outdoor porch. Did I mention staff? ”

“ Skip lunch, show up here after 4:00 pm and be ready to indulge yourself with large portions of the best BBQ in the area. Save room for Excellent home made pies and cakes, don’t forget to get a bottle of Mrs. Kate’s Carolina Bbq sauce to take home. Beautiful property along the creek with a friendly family like staff. This is by far my favorite BBQ place, I’ve had everything on the menu over the last 15-20 years, very consistent and no disappointments. My go to is the Beef brisket, wife favorites the ribs and kids love the smoke chicken, which is the best smoked bird I’ve ever ate. Get what you like, you’ll be happy and full. Cash is king as that is all they except. Wish I could give it six stars, to give this place anything other than 5 stars would be criminal. ”

“ Holy portions! This bbq place knows exactly who they’re catering to: hungry hikers! All of the entrees and appetizers are huge. My husband and I did not realize this and ended up ordering more than we could eat! The pulled chicken and pork plates were yummy. We were a little disappointed in the sides, they weren’t anything to write home about. I ordered a sweet potato not knowing it was a full sweet potato that I had to prepare myself. A little off putting. But the sauces were great and everything had great flavor. Keep in mind they only accept cash! ”
